[He'd like to tell her he isn't exactly worth worrying about, but he also doesn't want to stay on that subject at all.]

[She sighed. Another of these, but she wanted to find all of the people she had pictures of. There'd been a note in there about 'boy crazy' with this one that she didn't fully understand, but apparently her former self liked Maggie well enough.]

Maggie, right? I'm sorry I haven't been in touch. I'm having memory problems right now. A lot of them.

Oh, yeah. I heard... 

[She totally meant to check up on her when she saw the video in her feed but she couldn't bring herself to really respond.]

Have you really forgotten basically everything...?

[She wasn't upset about the lack of contact. She was living with this and sometimes she didn't know what to say. It had to be awkward for her friends.]

yes, everything. I don't remember anything before I woke up. I have information that helps me know 'what' happened, like my diary and friends, but I don't remember myself at all. Even the fluid videos don't seem to tell me anything, other than that a thing happened that I can watch.

Right. That really...sucks. 

[Dying does suck. She can relate. She's done it before. Not in Deerington, thank goodness. She can't imagine not remembering anything about herself. Maggie pouts, looking off to the side.]

We're still going to hang out, though, right? You don't suddenly hate me or anything?

Oh dear, of course we're going to hang out. Why would I hate you because I don't remember you? [She offered her as reassuring a smile as she could manage] In fact, if you want to come to my place right now, you can.

Maggie's birthday

[On Maggie's birthday one of the delivery dogs will come by bearing a gift! Wrapped in paper is a large crown made out of branches and roses.

With it is a note:]

Happy birthday!

Sorry this dumb town makes it hard to have a real birthday. I got you a gift anyway.

It isn't that great, I'm not very good at growing things, but since you don't have your crown here I thought a temporary one might be okay.

[Awww, how sweet. She's totally planning on making her birthday announcement on the network. Mandatory birthday wishes were needed for her. But Fern gets extra Maggie points for being her friend and getting her a present. What a pal! She's gonna send him a message right this moment.]

Heeeey Fern! I got your present for me! I totally love it by the way. Very thoughtful and it looks nice! It'll feel great to finally have a crown on my head again. I'll wear it everywhere. As long as it doesn't clash with my outfits!

[Since this is over text he can't tell if she's being sincere or just polite.

But then, does it matter? He's just happy to read the message.]

— a smaller note that says Migi attached to a little tin of chocolate raspberry tarts, hand-made (literally). There's also a bottle with a... star necklace wound around the neck? Some kind of art piece?? This comes from Migi's collection of stolen, hoarded items... Merry Christmas...! ]

Maggie makes sure to send a picture of herself wearing the scarf and hat while enjoying a chocolate raspberry tart. She even makes sure to include Migi's magnificent "art piece" in the picture.]

Christmas Eve

[You have been visited by Holy Mami!

She descends from the winter night sky, presents in hand. She has a smile on her face as she hands you a gift with a note attached.]


“These were made with love especially for you! Merry Christmas!”

[Before you have the chance to say anything though, she’s gone! She has a lot of gifts to deliver and little time to do so!]

[Maggie can only stare up in the sky in shock, stars in her eyes. That was the most beautiful thing she has ever witnessed in her life. And she can never hate free cookies. She's going to eat everything without a single regret.

Christmas eve

[In an attempt to enthusiastically celebrate his first ever Christmas, Fern is covertly dropping off a wrapped gift addressed to Maggie from him on her doorstep.

It's a dagger with a flower-themed handle, because of course Fern would assume a knife makes a good holiday gift. There's also a bouquet of flowers to go with it.]

[It wouldn't take long for Maggie to come across the gift. She may or may not have been preparing this "Santa Claus" individual in the act just in case he became real by Deerington standards.

She doesn't waste any time unraveling the knife and she can't help but find it to be quite cute! It will certainly come in handy if she needs to defend herself. And the flowers. Oh, the flowers. They're so pretty! But, if she's honest, she thinks all flowers. She sees that it's from Fern and smiles.]

Aw. How sweet!

[She then heads inside, already planning on putting flowers in a vase.]

[A few days before Valentine's Day Maggie will find a package at her door.

It's a box of chocolates! And it comes with a handwritten note:]

Hey,

I just learned about this rad human holiday where you give people stuff if they're important to you, so I hope you like chocolate!

And if this isn't how the holiday works, sorry. I'm trying my best here.
